Jack graduated from Greenville High School. His professional career in the dental technician field spanned more than 40 years with various dental laboratories. In his leisure, he enjoyed beekeeping, woodworking, and golf.
Jack, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, was preceded in death by his father, Thomas C. Waldrop, Sr.; his mother, Nellie Ward Waldrop; and a sister, Constance Waldrop Blackwell.
Jack is survived by his wife, Charlotte Elizabeth Dill Waldrop, to whom he was married on May 5, 1953; one daughter, Carol Waldrop Applegate; four grandsons, Gerald Tillman Applegate, III (Mollie), Spencer Thomas Applegate (Chloe), Chandler Hagen Applegate (Melissa, fiancee), and Sterling Prescott Applegate.
Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2024 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, Alabama from 12 noon to 1 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Mr. Waldrop at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
