Theresa Cowart Harrison

She leaves behind a loving and ever growing family: Children, Holly Roth (Stan), Kim Harris (Jason), and Scott Harrison (Dawn); grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney (Nelson), Heather (Raul), Amanda (Josiah), Haley (Wynston), Caroline (Keaton), Ally, Alec, Jake, Hannah, Fischer, and Ella; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patty Miller. Theresa is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Henry Harrison; and her brother, Hudson Cowart.

Theresa met Henry, the love of her life, in Savannah. They married on May 25, 1963 and their three children followed shortly thereafter. They decided to settle in Birmingham, Alabama, where their family has only continued to grow. They were soon known as "Nana" and "Grandaddy," their favorite titles of all. They were married for 56 years before Henry’s passing in 2019.

Theresa was faithful to all those around her. She loved traveling to new places with Henry, always attending her grandchildren’s games, dance recitals, and graduations, laughing with her sweet sister-in-law, Jackie, and never missing an Alabama football game. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her Highland Lakes community, and hosting family and friends over the holidays.

Theresa’s family is so very thankful for the extraordinary care provided by Dorothy, Komesher, and Tamela in her last days.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, with a celebration of life to follow at 10:30 a.m.
