She was born in Fort Belvoir, VA, graduated from Austin High School in Decatur, Alabama. She went on to earn her Associate's Degree in nursing and eventually her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. If you knew her, you knew she was a nurse!
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She suffered a massive stroke in January 2015 that left her with many limitations. However, that did not stop her. She loved her dog, Denver, and he loved her. She was also extremely creative and used her gift as an artist to bless others after her stroke. The last year and a half she spent in Birmingham at The Ridge at Grandview Assisted Living facility where she made quite an impression. Residents and staff alike loved her well and she loved them. We often heard that she had the best laugh. She will be deeply missed.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, John D. Taylor and Gertruda Maria Niemietz; and brothers, Henry Taylor and Eryk Taylor.
She is survived by and leaves behind countless friends and family to whom she loved and to who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa's name can be made to the Patient Advocate Foundation either online www.patientadvocate.org or by mailing a check to Patient Advocate Foundation, 421 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
