Sylvia Patricia Powell

Sylvia Patricia Powell, lovingly known as Marmee, passed away on May 2nd, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Katie and Orman Moore, her brother Jack Moore, and her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Mack Powell.

Pat was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cared deeply for her family and friends. She was always ready to offer a helping hand, and her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met. Pat was an exceptional stay-at-home mom, dedicated to ensuring the well-being of her family. She was known for her nurturing personality, and she made sure that every child who came into her home was safe, healthy, and happy.

Pat is survived by her son, Chuck (Emily) Powell of Birmingham; two granddaughters, Katie Frances Powell and Haden Powell, both of Birmingham; brother Buddy Moore of Tuscaloosa; and many nieces and nephews. Her family and friends will remember her for her unwavering love, kindness, and selflessness.

A graveside service to celebrate Pat's life will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home located at 475 Cahaba Valley Road in Pelham, AL on Sunday, May 7th at 2 pm. Visitation will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society or the Big Oak Ranch.

Pat's passing has left a void in the lives of her loved ones, but her memory will live on forever. She will be deeply missed, and her kindness and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
