Sims Roberson Beavers

Sims Roberson Beavers, age 89, of Vestavia Hills, AL, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Sims was born in Branchville, AL on March 5, 1933 to the late Emmett Ogletree Beavers and Nell Roberson. He attended St. Clair County High School and technical school. He served in the Airforce for four years in Savannah, GA during the Korean conflict. He built the barrack's and bunks for Hunter field. Sims was owner and General Contractor of Beaver Construction Company. He was involved in building apartments, condos, hotels, shopping centers and government housing around the Southeast. He was also the vice president and Co-founder of Arlington properties. He held his private pilots license and loved to travel. He was also an avid fisherman. Sims was a loving family man and a generous giver of his time.

He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Alan Beavers. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Thomas Beavers; one daughter, Barbara Ann Satterfield; his grandchildren, Brian Alan Beavers, Bethany Beavers Hale, Anna Leigh Satterfield, Bradley Wayne Satterfield; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Lauren Hale and Gabriella Sims Beavers.

A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, October 14, 2022 located at

475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124 at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery. A reception will be held at Cahaba Ridge Retirement Center at 1:00 pm at 3090 Healthy Way, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243.
