She was born in Jefferson County, Alabama to the late Howard Clifton Roberson and Docia Mildred Sims Roberson. Ruby was employed by Ebsco Media as the shipping supervisor for 26 years where she won the Outstanding Employee Award and earned the nickname “Flash.” She enjoyed spending her time working in her yard planting flowers, earning her Pelham’s Beautification Award. Ruby also loved to cook for her family and others. She always hosted her loved ones every 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Alan Franks (Becky), Norman Franks (Peggy), Deborah Acton (Mike), and Barry Franks (Debra); her grandchildren, Cynthia Monroe, Lindsey Buzbee, Jamie Walls, Julie Denton, Tracy Potts, Nathan Acton, Andrew Franks, and Steven Franks; along with her great-grandchildren, Carter Franks, Aniston Franks, Luke Franks, Allie Franks, Hera Franks, Austin Franks, Clayton Allen, Kayden Monroe, Jaxon Monroe, Adler Denton, Anna Cate Denton, Carly Potts, Evelyn Potts, Lily Potts, Catherine White, Kylee Walls, Jacob Walls, Cameron Acton, Mea Acton, and Alaina Acton.
A visitation for Ruby will take place at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pelham City Cemetery.
