Dewayne graduated from Curry High School in Walker County, Alabama before earning his Bachelor Degree from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. His professional career with Southern Company concluded with his retirement as IT Manager at Southern Linc.
In his leisure, Dewayne enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, gardening and other outdoor activities, and supporting the Crimson Tide Football Team.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his father, Sonny Lee Coleman. He is survived by his wife, Sandra B. Coleman, to whom he was married on May 29, 2005; his mother, Martha Fulton Coleman; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and John Simmons; niece, Cheryl Jackson; nephew, Chris Simmons; special friends, Steve and JoAn Hagood, Denise and Jerry Fant, Sharon and John Lovoy, Becky and John Bagby, and Monica and Kraig Keuter; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, April 1, 2024 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by A Celebration of Life for Dewayne at 12 noon at Ridout's Southern Heritage, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Also on Monday, the gravesite committal service will be at 2 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park, 5434 Old Birmingham Highway, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
