Richard William Vickers

Richard W. Vickers, 64, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Mr. Vickers was a native of Mobile, and was a current resident of Shelby County.

Rick was a skilled and well known member of the legal profession who balanced a strong work ethic with a true zest for life. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Rick was an avid Crimson Tide fan and also loved music, cooking and entertaining. Deeply proud of his sons, Rick will be greatly missed by professional associates, friends and family.

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Deneene Vickers; and by his brother, Joseph G. Vickers. He is survived by his sons, Adam Vickers (Jacqueline) and Cole Vickers (Stephanie Hill); father, R. C. Vickers, Jr.; sister, Antoinette V. Ward; and a dear friend, Patricia Merritt.

The family will host a gathering to celebrate Rick’s life from 4:30 until 7:30 on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
