He was born on November 14, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama to Violet Crumly Jensen and John Ross Sisson. Richard attended Idaho State and UAB and retired from Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion. Richard had a strong faith in God and was a member of Glen Iris Baptist Church. He had a giving heart and never met a stranger.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Margaret E. Sisson; three sons, Steven Ross Sisson; Brett Ryan Sisson; and James Eric Sisson; daughter, Michelle Williams; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with a graveside service following on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 10:15 am at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Richard's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Toys for Tots.
