Richard Phillip Reedy Jr.

Richard Phillip Reedy, Jr. was born on September 25, 1940, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late Richard Phillip Reedy, Sr. and Mariece Kathryn Ferguson Reedy. A proud graduate of Robertsdale High School, Phil went on to pursue higher education at Howard College in Birmingham, Alabama.

Phil was a dedicated member of Cropwell Baptist Church and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a truck driver before retiring. He was united in marriage to Sarah Payne on December 10, 1960, and together they raised four children. Phil was a passionate fan of Alabama football and treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a proud member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Leeds Lodge #446.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Phillip Reedy, Sr. and Mariece Kathryn Reedy, and his brother, John Allen Reedy. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Payne Reedy; his children, Pamela Irene Stunda (Ron), Barbara Ellen Lovvorn (Warren), Susan Reedy Webb (Lynn), and Darren Payne Reedy (Josie); his grandchildren, Nicole Carlisle (Seth), Mason Webb (Kennedie), Emma Stunda, Mary Stunda, Andrew Stunda, Paisley Reedy, and Graham Reedy; two great-grandchildren, Collins Carlisle & Hannah Carlisle; as well as an uncle & aunt, Curtis & Carolyn Reedy.

A visitation will be held on April 3, 2025, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Southern Heritage Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home, 2681 Rocky Ridge Lane, Birmingham, AL 35216 in Phil’s memory.
