Paul David Horn, 73, passed away Sunday evening February 5th, 2017 after a short battle with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). He was born in Flint, Michigan on September 7th, 1943 where he met the love of his life, Karren. They were married 51 wonderful years.
Paul was a devoted father to Kelly Giegel (David Giegel) and Brian Horn (Michelle Horn). He was adored by his grandchildren, Kaylyn, Ryan, Kiley and Jaylyn. He was so proud to be their Papa and enjoyed watching them grow up.
Paul joined the Navy after graduating from Flint Southwestern High School. Using his GI Bill, he put himself through college and graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
His successful career spanned 4 different states working in manufacturing. He retired as Director of Operations from Keltec/Crane Corporation in Fort Walton Beach, FL in 2006.
Paul never met a stranger and was blessed with lifelong friends. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, tinkering in his perfectly organized garage and FSU and Michigan football. Many precious memories were made tailgating through the years.
Paul was loved by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL on Friday, February 17th at 3:00 pm.
