N. Marc Stevens, 67, passed away on January 7th, 2021 from the COVID-19 Virus. Marc (Norm) was not just a number added to the many deaths from COVID-19, to his family and friends he was an amazing man; loyal, honest, kind, caring and touched everyone he met with humanity.
Marc (Norm) was born August 17th, 1953 in New Bern, North Carolina at the U.S. Military Base to his father Sidney Stevens and his mother Thea Stevens. The family moved to New York and lived there until 1969, then moved to Hollywood, Florida where he attended high school and played football as a wide receiver (following in his father’s footsteps as a wide receiver). Marc graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.
Marc (Norm) spent the past 25 years living in Birmingham, Alabama, where he met his wife and soulmate, Debbie Lovoy. During this time, Marc and Debbie built a life around family, friends and their community of Helena, Alabama.
Marc (Norm) had a love for his family and his two best friends of 50 years, Doug and Mark. His favorite past-time was enjoying sports, a hobby he shared with his father. He was especially passionate about football and his loyalty was to the Miami Dolphins. Marc (Norm) was a foodie, he loved to both eat and cook. He had a strong love for pets, but his dogs stole his heart.
Mark (Norm) is survived by his wife Debbie Lovoy Stevens, his mother Thea Stevens, two sisters Jodi Izadi and Lisa Stevens, his brother-in-law Charlie Izadi, nephews Stefan (Michelle), Seth and Jeremy Izadi; great nephews Jacob and Joshua, and by his extended family, children and grandchildren (Anthony Lovoy, Jilian and Jaxon Joyner) connected to him through his marriage to Debbie.
Marc will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 13 at 10:00 am. Private services will be held at the Cumberland Cemetery (Helena City Cemetery) in Helena, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Two-by-Two Animal Rescue in Helena, Alabama.
