Mickie Janine Smith Hoover, age 64 of Baton Rouge, LA. Mickie passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 14, 2019. She was born on January 11, 1955, and was a loving wife, daughter, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1973. She worked in Labor & Delivery at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge for 43 years. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gary L. Hoover; parents, Chesley Key Smith and Vivian Bodey Smith of Pell City, AL; sister, Vivian "Diane" Smith of Alabaster, AL; nephews, Raymond Louis Smith III (Laura Lee), Robert Key Smith (Amanda) and Richard Bryant Smith; brother-in-law, Cary Hoover (Debbie) of Baton Rouge, LA.
Visitation will be Thursday July 18, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL, 35124 followed by a graveside service. Her family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers at Compassus Hospice at St. Martin's in the Pines and to the staff at Grandview Hospital NICU.
