Michael Clay Wade

Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2024 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Michael at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Pastor Daven Watkins will officiate, and pallbearers will be cousins and friends.

Michael graduated from Bradshaw High School in Florence before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama. He received his Master Degree from the University of Alabama.

Michael was a long-time GIS Senior Systems Analyst for The City of Birmingham, Alabama. He was also a highly accomplished college sports photographer. He, his wife Lisa, and their daughters Britton and Katherine are members of First Baptist Church of Pelham, Alabama.

Preceding Michael in death were his father, Donald Clay Wade; maternal grandfather, Virlyn L. Bulger; maternal grandmother, Mary Ruth Bulger; paternal grandfather, Sam Clay Wade; paternal grandmother, Bessie Jones Wade; one aunt, Linda Bulger Cornatzer; and an uncle, Donald L. Bulger.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lisa Taylor Wade, whom he married on August 5, 2000; his mother, Sandra Bulger Wade; two daughters, Britton Nicole Wade and Katherine Sierra Wade; one sister, Vicki Wade Karnoski (Tom); aunts and uncles, Larry and Pat Waddell, and David and Jenny Wade; cousins, Teresa Cornatzer Lentz (Brannon), Richard Cornatzer (Stephanie), Jonathan Waddell (Becky), Angelyn Waddell Hill, Scott Wade (Cristie), Jeff Wade (Allison), and Brian Wade (Holli); nephew, Garrison Taylor; and beloved cats, Sugar, Peeta Booey, and Princess.
