Michael Rene Edwards, age 58, of Hoover, AL passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024. He was born to Rene and Shirley Edwards on September 29, 1965, in Mobile, AL. He was a graduate of Shades Valley High School and would go on to further his education at Snead State, where he received a scholarship to pitch for the college baseball team. At the age of 18, he met the love of his life, Cindy DeFalco Edwards. They were married on April 25, 1992.
Mike had an impressive 20-year career at Ram Tool & Supply Company and is remembered as someone who truly loved his job. This passion was seen not only in his outstanding distinction year after year in the “Million Dollar Club,” as one of the top salesmen in the company, but also in the extraordinary relationships he built. His customers were true friends - many of whom remained close even after Mike retired. Above all, Mike’s passion was truly his family. He was proud of his children and loved them more than anything. They could always count on dad to lend a listening ear and provide his insights. He also had a love for grilling out with his family, spending time with his dogs, working in the yard, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Mike had the ability to bring life and laughter to each room he entered. His legacy and resilient spirit will live on in his friends and families for generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rene Edwards and Shirley Martin Edwards. Mike leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Cindy DeFalco Edwards; children, Jake, and Madeline Edwards; sister, Patty (Boo) Edwards; mother-in-law, Hope DeFalco; brother-in-law, Rodney (Tifoni) DeFalco; and nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL.
