Melvin Jack Dean Jr, age 84, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on January 2, 2012. Charter member of Riverside Baptist Church and was retired from State Farm Insurance after 32 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Verna M. Dean, Children; Susan (Kevin) Scheel, Richard Dean, William (Teresa) Dean, Doug (Mandy) Dean and Phil (Mona) Dean, 19 grand and great-grandchildren, brothers; William, Stanley, Frank and Bruce Dean. Funeral services will be held at Riverside Baptist Church, January 5, 2012 at 11:00am with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Riverside Baptist Church in Mr. Dean's Memory.
