Melissa graduated from Berry High School and earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama. For several years, she worked as Coordinator at the Alabaster Senior Center. Her main passions, however, were for her family, especially her husband Frank, their two daughters, and their five grandchildren, whom she adored.
Melissa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Frank Alan Moultrie, whom she married on June 27, 1986; daughters, Amy Drum and husband Rob, and Anna Moultrie; grandchildren, Everette Drum, Hank Drum, Wyn Drum, Solomon Drum, and Rhys Drum; and two brothers, Howard Moore and John Moore.
The family will greet friends on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 6-7 p.m., followed by A Memorial Celebration of Melissa's Life at 7 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Inurnment will be at Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville, Alabama.
