Mary M Green

Mary Margaret Green, age 63, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, July 2, 2018. She touched and inspired many as she journeyed through her courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Mary was a loving and caring daughter, sister and aunt as well as a friend to many. Mary was born and raised in Natchez, MS, where she graduated from South Natchez Adams High School. In 1976, after earning degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting from Mississippi University for Women, Mary moved to Birmingham AL. Here she joined Industrial Chemicals, Inc., where Mary was a loyal and valued employee for 42 years, serving as Accounting Manager. Mary was a member of Riverchase United Methodist Church for the past 27 years. Mary loved singing in the choir. She was a member of the choir at Bessemer First United Methodist Church for 11 years and then a member of the choir at Riverchase UMC for the past 27 years.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Susie Green. She is survived by: twin sister, Carol Green of Hoover, AL; sisters, Dianne (Joel) Roberts of Hoover, AL, and Lisa (Bill) Harris of Raymond, MS; and brother, Newton (Alta) Green of Ringgold, GA; nephews, Will (Ellen) Harris of Pearl, MS; Christopher Green of Ringgold, GA; Paul Roberts of Hoover, AL; nieces, Tiffany(Ryan)Hall of Ringgold, GA; Emily (Jason) Roberson of Clinton, MS; Rebecca Harris of Raymond, MS; and Kim (Roy) Davis of Gardendale, AL; great nephew, Bryson Harris of Pearl, MS; and great niece, Olivia Roberson of Clinton, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018, at 1:30 pm at Riverchase United Methodist Church, 1953 Old Montgomery Hwy, Hoover AL, with a Memorial service immediately following at 2:30 pm. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to Riverchase UMC Music Fund or a charity of your choice.
