Martha “Gran Gran” Rowell Carroll of Bluff Park, Alabama passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 4th, 2021 at the age of 95. Martha is survived by her son, David Carroll of Los Angeles, California. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Leslie Carroll (Kevin), of Helena, Alabama whom she lived with and was taken care of during her last year of life. Also, granddaughter, Jennifer Carroll (Joshua) of Pelham, Alabama. Lastly, she is survived by the love of her life, her great granddaughter Rayne, and Rayne’s father, Hector Rios, of Hoover, Alabama. Martha was born in Georgia on April 19th, 1926.
She is preceded in death by her son, Greg Carroll and her husband of 68 years, Robert “Bob” Carroll (Dadoo). When she wasn’t immersed in her family life, you could find her at Chase Lake Country Club playing golf with her best of friends, including Judy Davis, Flo Coleman and many others. She could often be seen rocking in her chair on her front porch enjoying time with her beloved neighbors. She also enjoyed boating, skiing, traveling and spending time at our beach condo in Destin. She cherished spending time with her family and became proficient in sewing and cooking in her spare time. Proving her selfless nature, Martha also loved to volunteer her time at Brookwood Hospital in her earlier years. I would also like to thank Always Best Care including Deborah Butler, Candace Collier and others for their services. We appreciate Pro Health (hospice) for all their efforts including Ashley Knight, Sonya Moss and many others that helped Gran during her last days. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to ASPCA due to Martha’s love for dogs. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home at 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham Al 35124.
