Marissa Leigh Williams, 41, of Birmingham, died at her home on the evening of December 5, 2019. She is predeceased by her father, Mark Caperton, her grandparents, and her beloved horse Norm. She is survived by her mother, Janie Horsley Caperton; her adored dogs Livvie and Tucker and her horse Carson; and a host of relatives and many friends. Marissa was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1996, and attended Auburn University. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a show horse champion, winning many awards.
Marissa will be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious laughter and as a loyal friend and co-worker. She had a charitable spirit and planned many successful fundraising events. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
