A Celebration of Madison's Life will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at The Chapel on the Grants Mill Road campus of The Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama with Dr. Michael Hodges officiating. The family will visit with friends at the church Friday during a reception following the memorial service.
Madison was a junior at Oak Mountain High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She had a deep love for her family and friends, and her other passions included music, art, hiking, nature, flowers and plants, and animals.
"Madi" was preceded in death by one aunt, Lawanda Orange; and great-grandparents, Sybil and Burlin McManus, Bobbie Pettyjohn, Sarah and George Chamblee, and Thomas Buffkin.
Survivors include Madi's parents, Jason and Brandi McManus; one sister, Mackenzie McManus; grandparents, Connie Pettyjohn Buffkin, Gene Buffkin, Josie and Jim Chamblee, and Weldon and Rhoda McManus; great-grandparents, Roy Pettyjohn and Doris Buffkin; uncles and aunts, Brent (Leigh) Buffkin, Laurie (Fred) Osborne, Myles McManus, and Troy McManus; cousins, Ashli Buffkin, Lee and Emma Osborne, and Rosalie McManus; a host of great-uncles and great-aunts; many cousins; and an abundance of friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to The Shepherd Center (www.give.shepherd.org) in honor and memory of Madison Leigh McManus and her friend, Jonathan Clower. Madison spent last summer at The Shepherd Center helping Jonathan to recover from a traumatic brain injury.
