Luretta Ann Copes of Hoover, AL, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025. She was born to Harold and Dorothy Grenard on April 9, 1940, in Tippecanoe County in Indiana. Luretta was a graduate of Bishop State Community College, where she received her associate's degree in nursing. Luretta went on to have a fulfilling career as an RN and worked for Saad’s Home Health and Thompson High School. On August 26, 1961, she married the love of her life, Mr. Marvin Copes, and would go on to start a loving family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Grenard, and brother, Russell Grenard.
Luretta leaves behind her loving husband, Marvin; Sons Brad, Brian, and Brent Copes; grandchildren Christina Copes Humphrey, Anthony Copes, Emily Holley, Amy Copes, Aubrey Copes, Eli Copes, Brianna Walton and Nathaniel Copes; and great-grandsons Zevron and Lux Holley.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a service to follow at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
