Lillian Judith Barnard

Lillian Judith (Judy) Clements Barnard was born on April 17, 1941 to Robert Howell Clements and Elma Lillian Chisolm Clements in Birmingham, AL. Judy graduated from West End High School in Birmingham.

Judy and her husband Velton were married September 24, 1987 and had just celebrated 35 years of marriage. Judy was employed by M.T. Deason Company as office manager/bookkeeper until her retirement.

In her leisure time, Judy loved spending time at the beach, especially Cape San Blas, FL and spent many long hours sitting on the beach with a book in her hand and her dog Sam by her side. Judy also enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading, as well as, family gatherings.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lillian and her baby brother Bobby.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Velton E. Barnard. Her children Sandra Vernon (David) and Greg Cato (Sandra) and Velton’s children Keith Barnard (Diane), Kent Barnard, Kirk Barnard, and Kyle Barnard (Heather). Grandchildren are: Ryan Vernon (Amanda), Andrew Vernon, Stephanie Langner (Hunter), Clint Cato (Jerikah), Ryan Barnard and Logan Barnard.

Great Grandchildren are: Lila Langner, Alli Cato, Amelia Claire Vernon, Sam Langner, Maverick Cato, and John David Vernon.

Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home at 475 Cahaba Valley Road in Pelham on Monday, November 14, 2022. Family time will be 1:00 - 1:30 pm with visitation from 1:30 – 2:00 pm. A funeral service in the Chapel will begin at 2:00 pm. A private burial will follow.

Judy was dearly loved by her family and will be deeply missed.

Psalms 23:6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
