Larry received his formal education at Muscle Shoals High School in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He furthered his education at Florence State University and the University of Alabama where he achieved a degree in the Master of Arts.
Larry and Belinda married in 1980 in Florence, Alabama. After eight years of marriage, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Rachel.
He retired from Schilli Corporation as Vice President for 18 years.
Larry enjoyed traveling, reading, Alabama Football, investments, and spending time with family, in particular his only daughter Rachel, and grandson Leon. He was the rock of the family, loving, calm and kind.
He was a member of the University of Alabama Alumni Association and the Ascension St. Vincent's One Nineteen Fitness Center. He was devoted to his friends there and exercise.
Larry David Kimbrough was preceded in death by his father, B.D. Kimbrough, his mother Margaret Kimbrough (McCaig), and his brother, Danny Kimbrough.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Belinda Kimbrough; daughter, Rachel Slaton (Brent); grandson, Leon Slaton; brother, Jerry Kimbrough (Pam); sister-in-law, Lynn Kimbrough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home; 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124, on Saturday, August 5, beginning at 1:30 PM.

Larry’s family would like to express their gratitude to Steve and Bonnie Back for knowing what was needed to take care of our home during Larry’s illnesses, UAB Medicine Executives, Reid Jones, Terri Poe and Patricia Pritchett for always being just a phone call away during medical emergencies, UAB Medicine specialists and medical team who made sure that Larry received world class medical care, family, friends and neighbors who have reached out with love, prayers and offers to help in any way needed.
