Kelly Lynn Kirby of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on June 27, 2015. Her family was at her side as she passed quietly into God's loving hands. She was 27 years old. Kelly was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 15,1988. She leaves behind her mother Peggy Kirby, father Myron Kirby and wife Melanie, brother Brandon and wife Lisa, brother Brian and a long list of extended family and friends everywhere.
Kelly grew up in Helena and was a graduate of Pelham High School in 2006. After high school, she attended Xcell Hair Academy where she earned her Cosmetology degree. Kelly was all about hair and makeup and was very proud to be a Paul Mitchell stylist. She had a successful career, having worked for many years at the Regis Salon in Brookwood Village. Kelly loved her customers and enjoyed getting them to take risks with new styles and color.
Kelly loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had her own special flair and could combine her hair, makeup, clothes and jewelry into a look that was distinctively Kelly. She loved her cats and dogs, her first car Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, LSU football and most of all having fun with her many friends. She leaves behind a legacy of funny stories, mishaps and chaos that her family and friends will remember forever.
Kelly's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Service and Graveside will follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may choose to honor her love of animals by making a contribution to the Shelby County Humane Society. You may also contribute to St. Vincent's Hospital (CVICU unit) to honor the wonderful care that so many doctors and nurses gave Kelly during her extended illness.
