Kay Frances Blaylock was born on September 27, 1940 to the union of Evelyn and Max Blaylock in Bessemer, AL. Kay received her formal education at Bessemer School System and graduated in 1958. She furthered her education at Samford University. Kay was a member of Oakmont Chapel Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Cleveland & Cleveland Attorneys as a Paralegal and Office Manager. Later she served as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of Lighting Specialists, Inc. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, watching movies and t.v.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Max Blaylock and Evelyn Demott Justice; step-father, Charles Terry Justice; brother, Tommy Blaylock. She is survived by her husband, James A. Scott; 4 children, Donald Joseph Toner, Charles David Toner, Pamela Scott Bible, Ronda Toner Castillo; grandchildren, Megan Bible Dunkerley, Bradley Bible, Kenneth McCullum, Daniel McCullum, Shane Toner, Michael Toner; 3 great-grandchildren, 2 cousins, and best friend, Pam Nagel.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 12:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
