John Stanley Russom, Jr. (Granddad) passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. John was born in Birmingham, AL to the late John Stanley Russom and Jeanette Woods Russom. He is preceded in death by his brother Mike Russom. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Peggy McBee Russom, his sister Jennye Russom Hadaway (Mike), his children John Scott Russom (Rebecca), Robert Clyde Russom (Beth), his 4 grandchildren Chris Russom, Eileen Russom, Anna Kate Russom, Charlie Russom, as well as nieces and nephews.
John retired as the General Manager of Power Contracts from Alabama Power Company, a graduate of Auburn University with a BS in Electrical Engineering and a MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Alabama, and a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, and Auburn Football.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Briarwood Presbyterian Church. John’s Memorial Service will be Wednesday, 10/16/2024 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in the Chapel. Visitation will be at 1:00 and his service follows at 2:00.
