John Wallace Powers

The family of John Wallace Powers announces his passing on November 12, 2022 after 4 years of battling with lewy body dementia. John was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Wallace Courington and Billie Marie Powers on December 1, 1961. He met his wife, Peggy, in Birmingham and they married May 12, 1990. He graduated from Faulkner University in 1994 with a Bachelors Degree in Business.

He worked for 27 years with Iron Mountain as the GM for the state of Alabama. He also worked event staffing most of his life, and formed some of the most amazing relationships throughout the years with so many people through this. When he wasn’t working concerts or sporting events, you could always find him at the gym. There weren’t many things John loved more than his family, telling a funny story, and getting a good workout in.

John is survived by his wife, Peggy; his son, Cayden; his daughter, Lexie; his mother, Bille; his sisters, Lois and Rita; his brother, Chris, and a large community of extended family and friends who we know will miss him dearly.

A celebration of John’s life is scheduled for Saturday, November 19th at 11 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery. The address is 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124.
