BARTON, JESSE DAVIS, MSGT-USAF-Retired, age 81, of Indian Springs Village, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Jess was a Flight Engineer with the 59th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron in Bermuda as a Hurricane Hunter as well as other assignments with Strategic Air Command and Tactical Air Command.
Jess was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Floyce Barton. Survivors include Jess's wife of 55½ years, Eloise Crumley Barton; one daughter, Karen Barton; one son, Jon (Lisa) Barton; two grandchildren, Nick and Lisabeth Barton; and a sister, Carolyn (Charles) Knowles. Jess was also blessed with many other special family, including aunts, in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Graveside service: 11 a.m., Monday, March 1, 2010, Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Rev. Rick Bishop, officiating.
