The son of Clydie Harris Singleton and William L. Singleton, Jerry grew up in Adamsville, Alabama and was a member of the 1962 graduating class of Minor High School.
At the age of eighteen, Jerry Singleton enlisted in the United States Marine Corp (1962- 1966). He valued this service highly and attained the rank of corporal. As part of his service, Jerry was awarded the Good Conduct Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.
After serving his country, he earned a degree in Management Supervision and Technology Warehouse Management from Jefferson State Community College. He went on to serve a wide array of companies throughout his career including United Parcel Service, Pitney Bowes, Brown Transport Corporation, Andco Clutch and Brake, Star Clutch and Southland Transportation Group.
Jerry was a member of Sumiton Church of God and a Dream Maker donor to the City of Lights Dream Center in Sumiton, Alabama.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Donna Anderson Singleton; son, John Singleton (Cindy); daughter, Melissa Singleton Barnard (David); grandchildren, Joshua Barnard, Amanda Singleton, Shelby Singleton, Travis Alexander (Sarah), Hunter Alexander (Janna), Alicia LaHaye (Andre), and Cooper Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Juliette LaHaye, Riley Alexander, Emily Alexander, Eloise LaHaye, and twins Elijah and Evan Alexander.
A special thank you is given to Andrea Anderson, sister-in-law, who dedicated her life to caring for Jerry over the last few years of his life. He loved and respected you so much.
A military funeral honors and committal service will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on April 15th, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
