James "Jim" Scott

He is preceded in death by is parents, Charles and Ruth Scott; brothers, Marion and Harry Scott; sister, Ruth Ann McDonough; and his 1st wife, Leoita Scott.

He is survived by his precious wife of 49 years, Doris (Dot) Scott; children, Tim Scott, Dana Watkins (Teresa), Charlie Scott, Suzanne Sheehan (Lance), and Jody Burrow (Greg); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim proudly served in the Marine Corps for 24 years (1945-1969), which included many citations and awards while serving. He faithfully served the Lord on the mission field for 20 plus years in Europe, Asia, Africa and locally, as well. He was a member of Shades Mountain Independent Church for many years serving in numerous capacities.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017. The viewing will be 10am-12pm and the memorial service at 12pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
