Jackie’s greatest joy was her family. Her nurturing and supportive spirit was a blessing to all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her adoring husband of 54 years, Jack Lane McDuff, Jr.; and her daughters, Jana McDuff Hagan (Paul) and Eleanor Ashley McDuff. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Andrew Lane Hagan (Kathryn), Stuart Rogers Hagan, Cameron Peterson Hagan, Fielder MacDuff Hagan, Matthew Keller Cacioppo and Cara Clementine Cacioppo; and her great-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Hagan, Andrew Lane Hagan, Jr., and Grace Embry Hagan.
Jackie also nurtured those that she cared for while serving as a nurse until her retirement from Brookwood Hospital in 1998. She had been with the hospital since before the doors first opened, and she thrived on caring for others in the same way that she loved those closest to her.
While those that loved her will miss her sweet spirit, her family and friends will continue to celebrate her and all that she contributed to this world. She truly made a difference in every life that she touched. She encouraged each and every member of her family to do great things, and her strength and joy will forever be remembered and honored.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be offered for immediate family at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation: www.thinkoflaura.org/donate
