Jack Kelley, Sr., a resident of Galleria Woods in Hoover, passed away the morning of May 30, 2018. He was 92 years old. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. Reverend Paul Moore will officiate.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Margaret Sayers Kelley; parents William Fred Kelley and Mildred Perry Kelley; and numerous siblings.
He is survived by son, Jack A. Kelley (Nancy); daughter Patsy Kelley Hopper (Jimmy); by grandchildren Kimeran Kelley Keahey, Kristen Williams Adams, Brian Scott Kelley and Jessica Hopper Nix; and by numerous great grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Pacific during World War II. After discharge he returned to school and received a degree in Pharmacy from Howard College (now Samford University.) He loved playing Scrabble, keeping up with the stock market, Auburn football and the Atlanta Braves.
