Helen Scott Blackerby Roden, age 97, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on November 13, 2017. She was a 1939 graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing and a lifelong R.N. She was preceded in death by her parents, Scott W. Blackerby and Caroline Holcombe Blackerby of Chelsea. She is survived by her son, Gary Roden(Sandra), daughter, Teresa McGuire(Paul), 4 Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Al. with burial at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Chelsea, Al. The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
