Harry graduated from Vincent High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Harry retired from the General Services Department of the Jefferson County Commission. His favorite pastimes included woodwork and cars.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, the former Louise Mary Scarpa, whom he married on April 4, 1948. Survivors include two sons, Garry W. Pearce (Jane) and Craig H. Pearce; four grandchildren, Clint Pearce, Mitchell Pearce, Barry Pearce, and Angie Pearce; one great-grandchild, Ashlynn Pearce; and one brother, Frank Pearce (Shirley).
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. The Mass of Celebration will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, and burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the giver's charity of choice.
