Gloria Jean Covington was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 31, 1940. She married her first and only love Jimmie Edward Covington on October 29th, 1958, who passed way too soon in 1982. Gloria, fondly called “Sweet Sue” then raised three children alone while also starting a successful career in furniture and mattress sales. She was passionate about her customers, but her main passion was her family especially her children and grandchildren who she loved with her entire heart. She was kind to everyone and never met a stranger. She was the best Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
She loved the Lord and read his word daily. Most importantly she honored his word and was His loving follower leaving a wondering legacy to her children and grandchildren of a life well lived.
She is survived by sons Jimmy Edward Covington, Jr. (Renee), Brian Keith Covington (Misty) and daughter Lisa Michelle Hallmark (Eric). Grandchildren; Amber Joy Spruell (Richard), Andrew Christian McClung (Britney), Robert Allen Cook, Brianna Grace Covington, and Brooklyn Hope Covington. Great Grandchildren; Ethan McCoy Spruell, Eli Davis Spruell, and Mac Cameron McClung.
Sue is now rejoicing in heaven with her husband and baby son David Alan Covington who passed in 1962.
