Glenda was so generous. She was known for her kindness and she joyfully opened her home to family and friends. She will be long remembered for her famous Sunday dinners and for cooking the most wonderful meals you would ever eat.
She lived a life of service and had a rare ability to make everyone feel welcomed at her table. She was deeply loved by all of her family and especially doted on all of the children, finding great joy in rocking babies and reading to all of the kids who came into her home.
Although Glenda never married and never had biological children, she had a total 61 nieces and nephews and helped raise most of them. She was a member of Pentecostal church.
Survivors include Glenda's sisters, Mary Ray, Betty Carrol (Jim), Nellie Kiinstler, and Sheral Pierce; special sister of the heart, Sheron Stagner; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father and mother, John Fletcher Jr. and Edna Pearl Glasgow; brothers, Larry Glasgow, Buddy Glasgow, and Gene Glasgow; and sisters, Louise Sillery and Nina Glasgow.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Celebration of Glenda's Life at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will follow at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster, Alabama.
