February 22, 1958-January 2, 2015. Ellen Powell Murray, of Hoover, passed away at her home at the age of 56. She was born in Tuscaloosa but spent much of her adult life in Birmingham, AL. She dearly loved her family including her grandchildren, her work as a physical therapist and her many dachshunds. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Eugene Powell of Selma, AL. She is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Edward L. Murray (Birmingham), daughter, Haley Murray Lowe (Auburn), son in law, Jeremy D. Lowe (Auburn), grandsons, Samuel Harper (6) Carter Avery (3) and Lucas Hudson (9 months), mother , Dr. Betty Powell McCoy (Glencoe), sister, Lori Powell Rogers (Houston, TX), brother in law, David L. Rogers, and nieces Carrie Rogers-Whitehead and Amber Rogers Staner. Funeral services will be held at Green Valley Baptist Church, 1815 Patton Chapel Road, Hoover.
