Elena Cannon Robertson

Elena grew up in Andalusia, AL and was a graduate of Andalusia High School. She attended Auburn University on a scholarship. There, she met Burl Robertson, to whom she was married for 58 years.

Elena had been a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church since 1956, serving a year as the president of the United Methodist Women. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was admired by many and will be dearly missed.

Elena was predeceased by her husband, Burl, and her parents. Survivors include three sons, Burl Robertson, Jr. (Lynn), Dale Robertson (Gail), and Jim Robertson (Evelyn); one daughter, Amy Robertson Barr (Dr. C. William Barr, III); grandchildren, Stacie Sumerau, Joy Elena Robertson, Haley Robertson Howard, Brad Robertson, Mary Margaret Barr, Virginia Barr, Clarence Barr, Katie Robertson Shaddix, and Reid Robertson; great-grandchildren, Mary Elena Sumerau, Maggie Sumerau, Beau Sumerau, Cannon Howard, and Crew Howard; and one sister, Ann Cannon Sanders.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Rev. James "Butch" Williams will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brad Robertson, Reid Robertson, Clarence Barr, Scott Sanders, Sean Sanders, Cameron Howard, David Shaddix, and Thomas White.
