"Jack" graduated from Calera High School before launching his professional career as a millwright for U.S. Steel. He served there until his first retirement. Later, after serving in the U.S. Army, he returned to technical school and learned to be an HVAC technician. His second career was at Daniel Corporation, where he served as Director of Maintenance.
In his leisure, Jack enjoyed volunteer service in his community through his active membership at Lakeside Baptist Church in Hoover. He also loved to play golf and was a real handyman.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Fayette Mitchell Killingsworth, and three of his four siblings, Louise Patterson, Carolyn Hain, and Gary Killingsworth.
He is survived by his two children, Theodore "Ted" Killingsworth and Dianne Killingsworth McNair (Dan), and his two grandchildren, Gabrielle Gilmer and Harrison Gilmer. He adored Gabrielle and Harrison, and was so proud of them. He also leaves behind one sister, Sylvia Freeman.
Jack was a very humble and kind man. He would do anything he could to help someone. He lived independently until his passing. All glory to God, he passed peacefully and is now re-united in heaven with his forever sweetheart, Faye.
Family and friends will gather at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, September 1, 2023 for visitation from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Jack at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, Alabama.
