Dean Powell Fuqua

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our precious Mother, Lela "Dean" Powell Fuqua. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Joe Fuqua , her Father and Mother, Lonnie Richard and Minnie Odom Powell. Her brothers and sisters: Charles Milton Powell, Muriel Powell, Louise Powell Swindle, Jean Powell, Lynn Powell, Marion "Ann" Powell Campbell. Her son n laws, Joseph Mizerany lll and Michael Young. A precious great grandchild Katherine Herring. She is survived by her Daughters Sandy Fuqua, Sarah Denson and her husband Bruce, Patti Walker and her husband Scott, Janice Young. She has 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She leaves behind her childhood friend since birth Jo Ann Armstrong. Oh how she will be missed, what a great example she was. We want to thank her sweet caregiver Rhonda and her precious neighbors. She really loved them. We want to thank you all for your prayers during this time.

A visitation for Dean will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Southern Heritage Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
