Chriss F. Walters of Warrior, Ala., age 83, passed away Feb. 5. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was an active member of North Highland Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family, travel, and the outdoors. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves and the U.S. Post Office. He is preceded in death by parents Adolf and Effie Walters, daughter Ann Cusimano, granddaughter Kati Hooten, brothers Adolf Walters and James Walters, and sister Lucille Love. He is survived by wife Helen; daughter Carol Hooten (Chris); son Chriss Allen Walters (Julie); step-sons Billy Campbell and Ricky Campbell (Teresa); step-daughters Sheila Cope (Mike) and Sherri Hill (Tim); brother Charles Walters (Terri); granddaughter Andrea Cusimano; grandsons Peyton Hooten, Josh Campbell, Calvin Cope, Rusty Hill, and Braden Campbell; and great-grandchildren Joseph, Maddie, Isaiah, Chandler, Brayden, Will, and Ava Grace. The family will receive friends at North Highland Baptist Church in Warrior on Monday, Feb. 8 from 6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A funeral service officiated by Bro. Steve Abney will also be at the church on Feb. 9 at 11:00 a.m., with burial following at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
