Charles E Steele

Charles Edward Steele of Shelby County passed away at his home on September 29, 2022 at the age of 94. He was born in Mississippi on April 13, 1928 to parents Charlie Loren and Evie Mae Steele.

Charles, probably better known as Edward, was retired from Westinghouse and later worked for Southern Medical Association. He was a long time member of the Pelham Church of Christ. Edward had a passion for working on the farm, old trucks and never met a stranger. He was known to talk about the old days with his grandchildren or anyone else that was around. He met the love of his life, Martha Odis Steele at a young age and they were married for over 72 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Martha, daughters Kathy (Phil) Thomas, Sandy Mathis, Pam Piper, Emily (Paul) Bradshaw and son Randy Steele. He had 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
