She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Warren Thomas Morgan; brothers Samuel L. Jacks (Debbie) and Robert Andrew (“Randy”) Jacks; daughter LeeAnn Morgan Pounds (Crawford); son Cary Thomas Morgan (Micah); grandchildren Emmanuel Thomas Morgan of Austin, Texas, Noel Simene Morgan of Lynchburg, VA, Morgan Elizabeth Pounds of Athens, GA and Ansley Goodwin Pounds of Charlotte, NC, along with her beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and mother, George Leon and Zettie Mae McGuire Jacks and in-laws, Jessie Texas and Buell Thomas Morgan, all of Adamsville.
Carol Morgan taught at Adamsville Elementary for over 25 years after attending Auburn University, then earning her BA and Master’s in Education at UAB. Carol grew up a faithful member of Adamsville Baptist Church, then Forestdale Baptist, and more recently the Church at Brook Hills. Genuine faith in God, love of family, and selfless concern for others were the hallmarks of Carol’s legacy. Her family is truly grateful for the loving care provided to her in recent weeks and years by Tara, Iris, Tia, and Kim.
Memorial services honoring Carol will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021, at 2 pm in the Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with visitation provided at 1 pm. Graveside to follow at Midway Cemetery in Adamsville. COVID protocol requires that all attendees wear a face mask at all times inside and observe required social distancing.
