Bobbi B. Amick, born June 21, 1955 passed away on July 28, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Gladys R. Baker and Robert E. “Golf” Baker. She was a resident of Vestavia Hills, Alabama and Birmingham native her entire life and was an avid Auburn fan.
Survivors include husband, David R. Amick; daughter Lindsey Amick (Robert) Parks, Chattanooga; son, CPL David C. Amick, Camp Pendleton; grandchildren, Adam N. Amick; sisters Jan (David) Wilson and Lynn (J.B.) Monzella; a multitude of nephews, nieces and a host of others who claimed her as their own due to her loving nature, unique wittiness, uncandid smile and unconditional love.
A graduate of Berry High School, her proudest moments were having two children, later outdone with a grandson and most recently the ultrasounds of her twin grandchildren that she already adored. To all who knew her, Bobbi was a beloved mom, wife, sister, aunt, and most notably, a best friend to a countless number of people.
The family wants to acknowledge everyone at the St. Vincent’s Bruno Cancer Center and the MICU team for their extraordinary care and support of Bobbi.
Arrangements are being handled by Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, with visitation at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, August 1st. Services will follow from 6:00 to 6:30 PM CDT.
In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the St. Vincent’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
