Betty Sue Hauser, a longtime resident of Vestavia Hills, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 23, 2018, at the age of 83, after a brief illness. Rejoicing in her Heavenly arrival are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lofton Linwood Hendrick; husband, Milton Gilmore Hauser; son, Milton Linwood Hauser; and grandson, Charles Everett Walter IV, what a reunion they are having! Betty was a very witty, tender hearted, social person who loved being surrounded by family, her church and a number of close friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She remained active until the end, participating in her bridge groups, her supper club and Monday night wine group. Traveling with her friends from church brought her great pleasure as well as serving the "We Care" group, her Sunday school class and helping with food preparation for Vacation Bible School. However, her greatest joy was being with her family..children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Famiy trips to Gatlinburg, the beach and the lake are memories with her we will always treasure. One of her daily joys was sitting in her favorite chair watching "The Wheel" with her beloved dog, Daisy. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Hauser Walters (Chuck); daughter-in-law, Kim Holland Hauser; grandsons, Daniel Hendrick Walters (Lyndal); Jason Linwood Hauser and Milton Wesley Hauser; granddaughter, Wendy Walters Burford (Frank); great grandchildren, whom she adored, Charlie and Evie Burford and was eagerly anticipating the birth of Ally Walters in mid-August. She will always be remembered and loved for her wit, wisdom, energy and zany outlook on life which made us all laugh. She was loved and will be missed by MANY. We are grateful that she now resides in the arms of Jesus. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Denis Anderson officiating. Family will receive guests at 9 a.m. A private burial will immediately follow the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Vestavia Hills Baptist Church 2600 Vestavia Drive Birmingham, AL 35216.
