Barry Ray Faulkner went home to be with the Lord on September 8, 2021 at the age of 58. He was a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Barry was a graduate and stand out football star at Pelham High School and went on to play at the University of North Alabama. Because of his love of the game, Barry devoted many years to mentoring young boys and men as a volunteer football coach and role model. Barry spent the last 25 years as an invaluable executive in the insurance industry. Over the years he proved to be a leader in his field and earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients. Barry was the light of any room he entered. His infectious smile and huge dimples would brighten up even the darkest days. Barry was a devout husband, father, Papa and friend. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family on the lake, playing with his grandchildren and being the life of the party. The number of lives he touched in his 58 years on Earth is immeasurable. There is nothing he loved in this world more than helping others. This world will never be the same without Barry in it, but we rest peacefully knowing he is home with our Savior and probably giving Heaven a few laughs with his one of a kind humor and personality. Barry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marvella Tuggle and his mother, Shirley Tuggle. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 35 years, Lisa Rogers Faulkner; his daughter, Morgan Faulkner Sparks (Steven); his son, Brady Faulkner; his grandchildren, Charlie Beth and Tucker; his brothers, Jay Faulkner (Crystal) and Brian Faulkner (Cindy); his sister, Jonnia Woods (Brian); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who adored and loved him immensely. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm at B&A Warehouse in downtown Birmingham (1531 1st Avenue South 35233). There will be a service honoring Barry’s life followed by a reception as a time for his friends and family to gather and celebrate his legacy. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Nick’s Kids Foundation (nickskidsfoundation.org) to honor Barry’s passion for mentoring youth.
