It was October 1967. I was a transfer student at Nichols College .I needed to  find a room in the Dorm but everyone who was Fortunate enough to be without a roommate ,wanted to keep it that way. I was getting very discouraged as I was rejected several times.I was at the bottom of the list and I knocked on a door and a Pepper Cunningham answered it. I explained my dilemma  to him . He generously shared his room with me for the rest of the semester.
What a Great Guy. I am sorry for your loss.


I can't walk into the stadium without looking at the corner where we all would sit and think of Art and all of you.  He is never forgotten.

To the family, I’m sorry for your loss and pray that you always feel God’s love and strength but in extra measure at this time.  It's hard to lose a loved one but especially someone like Art.  

In my opinion, no words can fully explain what Art meant to me and to so many other people.  Art set a great example of how to live life and I gained strength and inspiration whenever I was around him.  He was the type of person I aspire to be.  He approached life with confidence, enthusiasm and with his eyes wide open, looking for ways to make life better for those around him.  He always showed the trademark “Art” smile even during difficult circumstances.  The love and pride he felt for his family was obvious but always shared with humility.  He was always grateful!

By the time Art and I met nine years ago, he had countless good friends and ongoing activities but he still made room in his life for me.  I’m a better person thanks to Art and count him among my blessings—and won’t forget the difference he made in my life and that of my family.  Thank you for being my friend, Art!


It is very sad to hear of Art's passing. He was the first Michelin Sales person I met in 1975 and he taught me more in two weeks than I had learned in the previous three months of sales training.  I have respect for no one at Michelin more  than Art. It has always been obvious that Art's work was appreciated by Customers and colleagues alike. What a great guy. Kathy and I offer our prayers and best wishes for Barbara and the family.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Art over the years and he was a role model.  His dedication to his customers, Michelin and his family resonated in all he did.  He conducted himself with the utmost respect and moral standards.

His family should be proud of all he achieved and we are blessed to have called him a friend and Michelin NA colleague.

He is now entering the best of part of his eternal life with the Lord.  However, he will be missed by all of us.

Art was an associate of mine at Michelin in the Earthmover department for many years. I always respected him and held him in high esteem. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Art will be greatly missed.

Art was a great individual. Always positive, always willing to help others. I never knew Art without a smile on his face. He was a great asset to the Earthmover team and I enjoyed working with him. Art was also a great family man, always doing his best to take care of his family. Art will be missed

Art was an amazing man.  I had the pleasure of working with him at Michelin Tires Corporation in Greenville when he was the Alabama, Georgia, Florida ESM.   I moved to Florida to take over the State.  Art and I spent a week together traveling the state and meeting key players.  Art had a huge area of responsibility but he was such a generous man lending me his time and talents.  It was an amazingly pleasant experience and gave me a chance to get to know him much better.  As a result I would consult with Art on the many challenges that presented   over the years.  Art always had a positive perspective and intelligent solutions to challenges.  I am so sorry for your family's great loss and I am very blessed to have known Art.

Art and I worked together back in the 90s during our Michelin Earthmover days. He was such a nice guy. Always professional and a gentleman.  I send my sincerest thoughts and prayers to he’s family and friends. 

I  have known Art for 20 years and had the distinct pleasure working with Art directly on the same team at Michelin for many of those years.

Art was a great person who was always positive, honest, caring, hard working, and would go out of his way to help others.  I genuinely enjoyed the time I spent with Art and he was a joy to be around. 

I know he loved his family very much and always talked about them.  He always spoke fondly of the weekends with the grandchildren and the summer beach trips with the entire family. 

I know he is in Heaven with our Father.  I pray for healing for his family. I miss Art but, I know I will see him again one day.
