Anne was born in Dalton, GA to Carl L. Griggs, Sr. and Charlotte J. Griggs. She graduated from Dalton High School and Auburn University, where she majored in accounting. She enjoyed the many friendships she made during her time as an Alpha Delta Pi, where she also served as sorority president.
In December 1980, Anne married her college sweetheart, Dan Roberts. In their early years of marriage, they lived in Montgomery, AL, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Atlanta, GA before settling down in Birmingham, AL, where they raised their three boys, David, Steven, and Andrew.
One of Anne’s greatest joys was being involved in her sons’ lives. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School, serving as team mom for their various sports, and homeschooling during the year the Roberts family served with Campus Outreach in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The Lord used Anne’s gifts while serving in Community Bible Study where she discipled women and led them closer to the Lord. She later served as the assistant teaching director for the Birmingham South class. She was also a member of Junior League of Birmingham.
Anne loved her family and cherished her relationships with her precious grandchildren. Everyone appreciated her clever sense of humor and her contagious laughter. In all circumstances, she learned to be content in her relationship with the Lord, daily living by her motto, “JESUS IS ENOUGH!”
