It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother at the young age of 72. We do rejoice knowing she is with our heavenly Father and reunited with her husbands, Larry Brooks and Charles Michelini, her son Wyeth Brooks and granddaughter Raven Pettus. Left to remember and miss her are daughters, Dawn Brooks Smith, Starr Brooks Brasher(Butch), Crescence Brooks Nail(John) and Carla Brooks Panitera, her grandchildren Levi Denham(Heidi), Tanner(Gina), Ian and Cole(Aleks) Smith, Chad and Cody Brasher, Ceres Denham Pettus, Jessica Brasher Fulmer, Shadie Nail, Destiny, Jennifer, Nicole, Deja and Elijah Brooks, Giovani Panitera, her great grandchildren Levi, Harley and Temperance Denham, Asia Pettus, Kelis and Owen Shoemaker, Tyler Fulmer, Hayden Smith and Kinley Jo Smith. Anne is survived by her brothers Alton(Linda), Gary(Angela) and Wayne (Judy) Pender and her sister Karen Pender. Anne grew up in Wylam and lived in the Birmingham area throughout her life. She spent her final days with her family in her home. She worked for 25 years as office manager for orthopedic surgeon Richard Cord and retired in 1998. Special thanks to the nurses, aides, social workers and Chaplins of Wiregrass Hospice and the loving and gentle caregivers from Comfort Keepers, Fatimah Howard, Gail Scales and Bonnie Thornton.
Memorial service will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 12:00 AM to 1:00 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Save- a -Life, 1120 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, Al. 35235
